LAVALLETTE – Lavallette officials notified the public that their beaches will reopen but, like its neighbors, there are rules. Currently, people are allowed to go to the beach for exercising, fishing, surfing and sunbathing only. The beach will open on June 20, when lifeguards will be on duty.
The community of Lavallette is short 10-minute drive south of Chadwick Beach. The borough has a mile-long, non-commercial boardwalk, which provides access to the beach.
The Beach and Boardwalk are open. Social Distancing Guidelines are in place.
No animals are allowed on the beach or other places of resort at any time. Animals on a leash can only be taken on the boardwalk at times other than regular bathing season. Do not dispose of feces in storm drains. All catch basins in Lavallette empty directly into the Barnegat Bay.
“Asbury Park Boardwalk and Beaches will be open as of Memorial Day weekend. The 2020 beach season is from Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday, May 23) through at least Labor Day Weekend (Monday, September 7). Additional September weekends may be added after Labor Day, depending on weather and water conditions.

Point Pleasant Beach, Mantoloking and Bay Head are the latest Jersey Shore towns to announce that they are closing beaches to the public in an attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19. The decision was announced on the social media and official web pages of the three towns.
