After initially only being supported in the US, Canada, UK, India, Japan and Germany, Alexa can now work in far less obvious places, from the Cayman Islands to Cambodia and plenty in between.

Amazon has also recently added celebrity voices that you can buy for your Echo, like actor Samuel L. Jackson, who can do things like tell jokes and give basic weather reports.
Amazon has announced that its virtual assistant Alexa will soon be able to mimic the voice of the actor Samuel L Jackson among other celebrities. The firm intends to charge a fee for the feature, with each voice costing $0.99 (80p).
Open the Alexa appTap on the Alexa app icon to open up the app. Tap the three-barred menu icon at the top left of the home page, then tap Settings > Device Settings. Wait until the list of connected devices pops up on the screen, then choose the device for which you'd like to change Alexa's voice.

Amazon has allowed you to change the 'wake word' for your echo device, even if it is restricted. Unfortunately, you cannot change the Alexa wake word to Jarvis, sorry Marvel fans! Regardless of whether you have an Echo Dot, Echo Input, Echo Show or any other model, you can change Alexa's wake word.
The reason it is showing Japanese is because of the list of language preference. "App and website will use the first supported language", which in our case happens to be Japanese. You don't have to remove Japanese from the list, just need to make sure that English has a higher precedence.
