The problem with Indeed
It's clear that Indeed favors quantity over quality. And that's the main problem with the site. It overwhelms job seekers with thousands of jobs vaguely relevant to their skill set and interests and encourages them to apply for as many as possible.Once your resume is on Indeed, you can choose to make it “Public” or “Private.” There are benefits to both options. When you make your resume public, it is visible to anyone. When you make your resume private, employers cannot find your resume, so they cannot contact you if they think you might be right for a job.
You must be logged in to your Indeed account when you apply for our system to automatically put the job in the Applied Jobs tab. If you were not logged in at the time, or if you were brought to the employer's site to apply, then the job listing would not automatically save.
Public resumes are visible to anyone, however, your phone number and email address are provided only to employers to whom you apply. However, if you put your phone number and email address in the resume itself, instead of the fields provided, it may be visible to everyone.

If I'd have to guess Indeed has an option where the person trying to fill the position can add the "urgently hiring" tag for some price to get their job listing to appear more urgent and appealing. It's basically just a paid ad. And indeed makes some extra money.
