How to Ask for an Appointment Over the Phone
- Understand their level of interest. During your initial call with the prospect, communicate the purpose of the meeting you'd like to book with them.
- Communicate the value of the appointment. What does the prospect have to gain from meeting with you?
- Give them a choice.
You should make an appointment by calling or by email. Do not try to make appointments by text, unless you are simply asking a good friend if they would like to have lunch. When making an appointment you should give the person your name and the reason for wanting an appointment.
How much complimentary support do I get? Most Apple software and hardware products include unlimited complimentary support incidents within the first 90 days of product ownership, or longer if required by applicable law. Apple Watch Edition comes with 2 years of complimentary support.
Apple support chat is available 24×7. Apple's support team can answer any questions that you have about Apple products, hardware (iPhone, iPad, etc), software (iOS, macOS, FaceTime, Pages, etc) and services (iCloud, Apple Music, iMessage, etc.).
Apple makes it a bit more difficult to make a Genius Bar
- Launch the Apple Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Tap on the Stores tab in the bottom navigation.
- It should find the closest store to you automatically.
- Tap on Genius Bar.
- Select the device you're having problems with.
- Choose a time you'd like to make your appointment for and then tap Select Day & Time.
Both AppleCare+ options provide repair or replacement hardware service for your iPhone. Depending on the plan you choose, you'll get up to two incidents of accidental damage protection and up to two incidents of theft or loss coverage every 12 months. Each incident is subject to a service fee or deductible.
You must go through their triage process though (Apple support > what's the problem > etc). You need to pick a hardware problem - something that will invariably result in options to either call or take it in for service. Once you choose to take it in, the Genius Bar option should be available.
They offer personal support when customers have problems or questions relating to their Apple products. Most services carried out at the Genius Bar are free. Non-warranty service (which is paid for by the customer when repairs are complete) is also routinely performed.
If you've decided it's best get support in-person at the Apple Store, it's best to make a reservation whenever possible. Apple Stores accept walk-ins for the Genius Bar, but wait times can vary widely depending on where you live, the time of day/week that you're visiting.

From your Apple ID account page
- Go to your Apple ID account page and click Forgot Apple ID or password.
- When you're asked to enter your Apple ID, click "Look it up."
- Enter your first name, last name, and email address. If you enter the wrong email address, you can try again with a different one.
In most cases, walk-in appointments are unavailable. If your store has not reopened for in-store Genius Support yet, it will be noted by a banner on its webpage. In general, the editors at MacRumors feel that AppleCare is worth getting for Apple laptops that you plan on keeping for longer than one year, and iPhone, iPads, and Apple Watches due to the accidental damage coverage. AppleCare is certainly not essential, and can be worth the additional peace of mind.

So long as you have a qualifying device, service, or issue, there is no charge from Apple to call or chat with support. Long distance and toll charges, or cellular fees are notwithstanding. If you call outside of your region there may be costs associated with your call applied by your carrier/phone company.
You can repair a cracked iPhone screen at an Apple Store, an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or by sending it to an Apple Repair Center. If you have an AppleCare+ plan, you can use it to cover screen repair. All of these locations use genuine Apple parts to ensure that your screen works like new after it's repaired.
The iPhone 12 — like other recent models — is available to purchase on Apple's website, and the company is offering the option of buying the device online and making an appointment to pick it up in the store at a specific time.
Depending on your location, you can try it, but they're usually booked pretty solid at the Genius Bar, so you may have to wait for some time - better idea is to walk in with an appointment.
If you don't want to use an Apple ID on your iPhone then you don't have to. When you first set up your new iPhone - or any Apple device - you'll be asked to create an Apple ID. This is a universal account that will work with iCloud for your backups, the App Store, and to share your data between devices.
