There is a big difference, because CS6 still can use all the many third-party plugins I had ammassed since 1998. CC 2017, on the other hand, can only use the latest third-party plugins… Zillions of my favorite old pluggies, it simply ignores. Yet CC 2017 has a slicker, faster, better GUI, so there's that.
Working with this suite of apps is highly decent, just so long as it includes Adobe support, switching between computers and mobile devices, and updates both often and substantial. As long as Adobe continues to dedicate themselves to Adobe Creative Cloud, it'll probably be worth the cash.
