It really depends on the desired shade and fabric. To achieve the color on the box or bottle, we suggest 30 to 60 minutes with continuous stirring. For lighter shades, we suggest 10 to 20 minutes.

No, you absolutely cannot dye a microsuede couch, if the fabric won't come off of it. Microsuede is made of polyester, which can be dyed only by BOILING it in a special kind of dye (disperse dye) for an hour or so. A little bit of boiling is not enough. Steaming it in place on the couch is simply not going to do it.
If the stain is stubborn, there are two more options to remove the dye: remove it with a dye remover or bleach it out. Either will remove the color without damaging the shirt. If the garment is white, you can also use RIT Dye Remover that will essentially bleach the entire piece.

Paint on fabric permanently by mixing a fabric medium with acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is fast drying and waterproof but can crack or peel if used on its own. Adding a fabric medium gives the paint flexibility to move with the garment, thus ensuring a permanent finish.
To help set the dye, we recommend using your microwave. Wrap the dyed fabric in plastic wrap and seal the edges. Place the wrapped fabric on a paper towel in the microwave and heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Plastic will puff up, creating a heat chamber that helps bond the dye with the fabric.
What is fabric medium? Fabric medium is a thick liquid that you add to acrylic paint, which turns it into fabric paint. It does not alter the color of paint in any way! Fabric medium looks opaque white, but dries completely clear. If the paint and fabric medium are both high-quality, your painted jeans will be too!
