Android handles MicroSD cards in two different ways — as portable storage or as internal storage. In the past, all MicroSD cards have been formatted as portable storage, but in newer phones MicroSD cards can act as internal storage, too.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge do not come with a micro SD card slot. If you don't have one already, you'll need an adapter so that you can connect an SD card to the micro-USB port on the bottom of the S6.
