A safety harness is a system of restraints that prevent the wearer from falling from a height. By wearing the belt or harness the risk of injury from a fall is greatly reduced.
It consists of an anchorage, connectors, a body belt or body harness and may include a lanyard, deceleration device, lifeline or suitable combinations of these.
There are two major types of fall arrest: general (nets) and personal (lifelines). The fall arrest system only comes into service when or if a fall occurs. According to OSHA standards, only retractable lifelines, or full-body harnesses with shock-absorbing lanyards are accepted as personal fall arrest systems.
One of the main ingredients of a wiring harness is copper, copper has become very expensive. The connector housings have seals to keep the moisture and dirt out. The actual male and female connectors may have a silver coating to resist corossion and to keep a positive and secure connection.

If the wiring harness is faulty, it needs to be replaced. You may need to do this repair if an electrical connector melts or burns for example. A melted or burned electrical connector can heat up and cause a fire if not replaced as soon as possible.
A wiring harness is an organized set of wires, terminals and connectors that run throughout the entire vehicle and relay information and electric power, thereby playing a critical role in “connecting” a variety of components.

To secure yourself when working on rooftops, you need a fall arrest system which is usually made up of three primary elements; Anchor points, Bodywear- also known as the roof harness, and Connectors – these are ropes, lanyards, hooks, buckles, and rope-grabs.
Use a sturdy extension ladder that extends at least 3 feet above the eaves to climb onto the roof, and secure the bottom to the foundation and the top to the eaves or fascia so it doesn't move. Hold onto the ladder with both hands when you dismount.
For those of us who work at-height there are two broad categories of lanyards with a total of four different types of lanyards, each of which is part of your fall protection system and might consist of a fall arrest lanyard, work positioning lanyard, fall restraint lanyard or fall restriction device.
