Niagara Falls is very commercialised, but well worth a trip, and three days sounds just right. A trip on the Maid of the Mist is essential, to experience the force and beauty of the water. All other attractions- Behind the Falls, The Boardwalk and Spanish Cable Car- are also worth doing, although not as exciting.

Re: How wet do you really get on maid of the mist? You will get very wet. The poncho provides pretty good protection, but water always seems to find it's way through. Probably no need to change your clothes after though.

There are three International bridges between the U.S. and Canada within 6 mi /9.6 km of the Falls. 500 yards/ 457 m from the American Falls is the “Rainbow Bridge” which offers a spectacular view of the Falls. There is no commercial traffic allowed. You can walk, bike or drive across.
