Suspension Lift

You don't "need" a lift, but the tires will rub in some areas, especially when off-road. The front tires will rub the front airdam under the front bumper when turning lock to lock [like in a parking lot]. You can just remove it as it would be removed if you replace the bumper, anyway.

You should run at least a 35 with a 4" lift. What he is saying is: if you want to run a 33" tire, save you money and buy a leveling kit or 2" BB. A leveling kit will remove the rake and give you about 1-2" of lift over stock. Sorry, 4" of lift is big on a jk and a 33" tire will look small.

you can get wider tires and new wheels with less backspacing and that will widen your stance. New wheels with less backspacing than stock rims will give you a wider stance. There kinda manditory with wider and taller tires or you will rub while turning.

To be able to run 33" tires (or 34") comfortably you'll need 3.5" to 4" of lift.
Because of the brake calipers on the JK, the only 15" wheels that can fit are those with 3.75" backspacing. Your tires will stick out a solid inch past the fender flare with that backspacing. All 15" wheels will fit.
The lug pattern/spacing is the same, however the studs and lug nuts are different from the JK to the JL. The JL is 14x1. 5mm and the JK was 1/2”-20 I believe. In short, the wheels themself will fit, just reuse the lugnuts from your vehicle.
They're all identical. The only difference is that the JL Wrangler uses 14mm lug studs now, but all the 2007+ wheels can still fit, and can still all run the same tire sizes. 285/75-17 is what I'm running and they measure 33.00" tall on the Jeep. This is a little taller than the Rubicon tires.
