Beginning on September 10, 2019, anyone who bought a new Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Apple TV from Apple is eligible for a completely free year of Apple TV Plus, which normally costs $4.99 a month.
If you have an Apple TV, you can use it to watch movies from your computer on your TV. In the iTunes app on your PC, choose Movies from the pop-up menu at the top left, then click Library.

To activate your Apple TV+ subscription, you should:

- Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Open the TV app on your eligible device.
- Tap Enjoy 1 Year Free on the main page of an Apple TV+ show.

- If you don't get a prompt about your free year automatically, tap or click on a new Apple original show.

Redeem your 1 year free in the Apple TV app starting November 1, 2019. Make sure your eligible device is running the latest iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, or macOS. Offer must be claimed in the Apple TV app within 3 months after first setting up your new device.

You can watch Apple TV on your Mac by navigating to the Apple TV+ website. The Apple TV+ app is also available for Mac as long as you have macOS Catalina or newer.
If you're using a smart TV or streaming device, you need to set up the Apple TV app first. On your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple TV, the Apple TV app comes already installed.
How to watch Apple TV+ on Windows
- Go to the Apple TV+ website in your web browser.
- Sign in to your Apple account.
- Choose a show to watch, and stream away!
- Open the iTunes app on your Windows device.
- In the dropdown menu on the top left, select TV Shows or Movies, whichever you'd prefer to watch.
- Connect your Apple TV to the HDMI or component video cables.
- Insert the opposite end of your HDMI or composite video cables into your computer's monitor or TV-tuner card.
- Connect your Apple TV device to your home's network.
- Follow the on-screen prompts once your Apple TV connects to your network.
How to mirror your iPhone to a Mac using QuickTime
- Connect your iPhone to your Mac using your Lightning to USB cable.
- Open Quicktime on your Mac.
- Click on File in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to "New Movie Recording."
- Next to the red record button (bottom middle), click on the down arrow.
Update all your devices to the latest available software. Connect your devices to the exact same Wi-Fi network. Restart your Internet router, Apple TV, and Apple devices. Make sure AirPlay isn't restricted by Content & Privacy Restrictions or Firewalls.

Mirror your displaysMake sure that your external display is turned on and connected to your Mac. Choose Apple menu ? > System Preferences, click Displays, then click the Arrangement tab. Make sure that the Mirror Displays checkbox is selected.
What to do to redeem your TV+ free year
- Force-quit the TV app and relaunch it.
- Sign out of your Apple ID and sign back in again. Open the TV app.
- Try signing in at tv.apple.com. You can sign up online, and it may show you your free year if your device does not.
- Contact Apple Support.
While most streaming services bolster their original content with big TV shows and movies from third parties, Apple is relying solely on its originals. And while practically all of the content is worth watching, both in terms of entertainment value and AV quality, there's simply not enough of it.
