They need to be set up on the Master Slide , but then once you closeMaster View , you need to go to Insert - Header & Footerand choose the item (Date and time, Slide number, or Footer ) that you want to appear on each slide. There is also an option there to check (or not)Don't show on title slide .
Start your slide numbering with a specific number
- (PowerPoint 2013 or 2016) On the Design tab, select Slide Size, and then Custom Slide Size.
- Under Number slides from, click the up or down arrow to switch to the number that you want to start from:
- Click OK.
Change the starting slide number
- On the Design tab, in the Customize group, click Slide Size, and then click Custom Slide Size.
- In the Slide Size dialog box, in the Number slides from box, enter the number that you want to show on the first slide in your presentation, and then click OK.
A slide master is the top slide in a hierarchy of slides that stores information about the theme and slide layouts of a presentation, including the background, color, fonts, effects, placeholder sizes, and positioning. To create a master slide: On the View tab, click Slide Master.
Add a new slide
- In the slide thumbnail pane on the left, click the slide that you want your new slide to follow.
- On the Home tab, click New Slide.
- In the New Slide dialog box, select the layout that you want for your new slide. Learn more about slide layouts.
- Select Add Slide.
1 Reapplying the Master LayoutThe problem is you need to apply those changes to all the existing slides too. So, if you changed the Title and Content layout, click a slide with that layout, select the Layout button on the Home tab, and then choose the Title and Content layout. The Slide Master changes appear.

- To add a logo to all the slides, Select View > Slide Master.
- Select Insert > Shapes, pick a shape and then click and drag to draw the text box on the slide master.
- Right-click on the shape > Format Shape to open the menu.
- Under the bucket icon, select Fill > Picture fill > File and insert your logo image.
How to Create New Slides in PowerPoint
- 1In PowerPoint, press Ctrl+N to start a new blank presentation. A single slide appears in it.
- 2Choose Home→New Slide. A new slide appears with the Title and Content layout.

- Point the mouse at the theme you want to apply. Right-click it, and then select Apply to All Slides.
To make your slide master available for future presentations, save it as a template:
- While in the Slide Master view, click “File” > “Save As.”
- Type a name for your template.
- Under “Format,” set it to “PowerPoint Template.”
- Finally, click “Save.”

Save a themeOn the View tab, select Slide Master. Then on the Slide Master tab, select Themes. Click Save Current Theme. In the File name box, type an appropriate name for the theme, and click Save.
Align an object on the slide
- Hold down Shift , click the objects that you want to align, and then click the Shape Format tab.
- Click Align > Align to Slide.
- Click Align, and then click the alignment that you want.
On the Home tab, under Slides, click the arrow next to New Slide, and then click Insert Slides from Other Presentation. Select the presentation that you want to insert, click Select slides to insert, and then click Insert. Click the slides that you want, and then click Insert.
Removing Slide Master Elements from a Single Slide

- Choose Format, Background.
- Select the Omit Background Graphics from Master check box.
