How to cancel a debit card
- Check your bank app. Many banks offer apps that do more than just help you complete mobile check deposits and monitor your transactions.
- Call your bank as soon as you notice it's missing.
- Cancel automatic payments.
- Monitor your bank account.
- Follow up in writing.

But for that, you need your registered mobile number and the last 4 digits of your ATM card.
- Send an SMS- “BLOCK<space>XXXX" to the number 567676.
- XXXX is the last four digits of your SBI ATM-cum-debit card.
If you cancel your debit card, any automatic payments you set up with that card will no longer go through. You'll need to update each account with a new payment method.

To deactivate a USSD profile, simply dial *901*911# from any phone, input the registered phone number for the account you want to blacklist and your USSD profile will be deactivated and blacklisted automatically.”
Existing internet banking customers can use their online accounts to instantly block their credit cards. Login to your account with your customer ID and password. Go to My accounts and choose 'Block your Credit card-Instant deactivation' listed under Credit Cards.
Credit card companies can track where your stolen credit card was last used, in most cases, only once the card is used by the person who took it. The credit card authorization process helps bank's track this. However, by the time law enforcement arrives, the person may be long gone.
If the debit card is used in an unauthorized manner, the crime of “theft by debit card or debit card number” has occurred. The crime may be a felony or misdemeanor, and is investigated by the police agency where the fraudulent purchase occurred. If you do, and other items were also stolen, they might investigate.
Give your bank a "stop payment order"Even if you have not revoked your authorization with the company, you can stop an automatic payment from being charged to your account by giving your bank a "stop payment order" . This instructs your bank to stop allowing the company to take payments from your account.
Go to Debit card. Select Deactivate/ Activate card. Select Permanent or Temporary Block.
Contact Card IssuerIf the vendor in question continues to take money from your account despite your request that it stop, you'll need to get in touch with your card issuer and ask that they block the company from charging your credit card.
Application to the bank:All you have to do is to submit identity proofs along with the application so that the bank can take further procedures to unblock the ATM card. It will take 48 hours to five working days to unblock the card in such a case.
