If the problem persists or you do not have a reset button, remove the battery from the mouse to completely disconnect the power. Reinstall the battery, and test the mouse. Next, remove the USB and reinsert it into a different port. USB ports can go bad, and then they will not function properly.

sometimes mouses can work both ways. For example, a mouse manufactured to work with Bluetooth as well as RF or WiFi will be able to work alone without a dongle. Secondly, if you have a Logitech mouse with a unifying signature on it, then yes! You can buy another Unifying Receiver to get it to connect again.
No. A wireless mouse/keyboard does not use regular Wi-Fi (i.e. 802.11x) and can only bind with the receiver it came with. An exception may be the Logitech Unifying receiver, which allows connecting every Logitech device that supports it, to a single receiver – but still, it will take one USB port.
If the problem occurs more than once, and you have to repeatedly re-add the mouse or turn it off and then on, you may want to update firmware or drivers associated with the Bluetooth controller. For more information about troubleshooting wireless and Bluetooth issues, see this Troubleshooting: Mice article.
To establish a connection, simply click the Easy-switch Toggle button (adjacent to the numbers) until the connection number you want is lit, and then press and hold the button for more than 3 seconds (until the number starts to blink rapidly).
A mouse can only be paired with one receiver at a time so if you pair a mouse with a Logitech unifying receiver, it will no longer work with its original receiver, should you still have it. It is possible to reconnect the two, however, by downloading Logitech's Connection Utility Software.
This mouse does not have batteries; it obtains power from your host device. A USB wireless mouse is cordless. A receiver attached to your computer or laptop transmits to the actual mouse. The USB wireless mouse itself generally has an on/off switch and is operated by battery.
Most wireless mice models usually come with rechargeable batteries or a USB cable for charging it. The process is not different from charging your phone or laptop. All you have to do is plug the cable into the power source (such as your laptop's USB port) and the mouse's charge jack.
DPI stands for dots per inch. Depending on the mouse make it will have certain presets (e.g 3000, 6000) and pressing it will cause your mouse to cycle through them. The higher the DPI , the farther the cursor on your screen will move when you move the mouse.

Connect the USB cable coming from the mouse to one of the USB ports (shown right) on the back or side of your computer. If you are using a USB port hub, connect the mouse cable to that. After the mouse is connected, the computer should automatically install the drivers and provide basic functionality.
You can connect wireless Bluetooth mice, keyboards, and gamepads directly to your phone or tablet. Just use your Android's Bluetooth settings screen to pair it with your device, just as you'd pair a Bluetooth headset. You'll find this screen at Settings -> Bluetooth.
