There is no direct connection from Taal Volcano (Mountain) to Puerto Galera. However, you can take the travel to Batangas Pier then take the ferry to Puerto Gallera. Alternatively, you can take a vehicle from Taal Volcano (Mountain) to Puerto Galera via San Joser, Batangas Pier, and Batangas Pier in around 2h 17m.
Puerto Galera is known for its lovely white sand beaches and its exquisite dive sites with a biodiversity of marine eco-system. Interesting rock formations and coral gardens are home to colorful marine life, like the numerous species of nudibranch, mantis shrimp, sea anemone, moray and sea fan sea horses.

Starlite Ferries has trips daily between Batangas and Puerto Galera. The ferry from Batangas departs at 11:00 AM while from Balatero, Puerto Galera, it's 3:00 PM. The total travel time is one hour. The regular passenger fare is 300 PHP.
Take the LRT-1 to Gil Puyat Station. Ride a Tritran bus to Batangas City/Batangas Pier. From Batangas Pier, ride a boat to White Beach (M/B Brian leaves every 30 minutes from 6AM), a Sabang Princess Ferry to Sabag Island, or a ferry to the port of Puerto Galera, called Muelle.
Take an air-conditioned bus going straight to Batangas Pier (shown in photo above) via CALABARZON Expressway. Travel time to Batangas pier is about 2 hours and the fare is less than 200 pesos. Upon arriving at Batangas Pier, go to Terminal 3 ( Outrigger Ferries).
Land – Public Boat: From Manila, it is a 2 to 3 hour drive through South Luzon Expressway to Batangas Port. It is a 60- minute boat ride from Batangas Port to Muelle Port. Seaplane: Airtrav seaplane flies offers a 30-minute flight straight to the Boquete Island.
The island of Mindoro may be accessed by boat from either Batangas (to Calapan and Puerto Galera), from Caticlan (Aklan) to Roxas (Oriental Mindoro), or from Coron to San Jose. The shipping service from Batangas is Ro-Ro (about 3 hours) or fast ferry (about 1.5 hours), 24/7.
There is no direct connection from Calamba to Puerto Galera. However, you can take the bus to Batangas City Pier, take the walk to Batangas Pier, then take the ferry to Puerto Gallera. Alternatively, you can take the taxi to Batangas Pier then take the ferry to Puerto Gallera.
How to Get There
- From Manila, board a bus bound for Baler (P500-750). Rates vary depending on the class of the seat.
- Once in Baler, ride a tricycle to your hotel (P10-20/head); much better if your hotel is located at Sabang Beach area. You can also hire a tricycle for a full-day or half-day tour.
CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines — The tourist town of Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro province is accepting visitors again, while another popular destination, El Nido in Palawan, is on a “dry run” for reopening.
You have to take a boat from Batangas Pier. Take a metered cab to the bus station “Buendia Makati” on Taft Avenue (max 400P) then take a bus JACK or JAM liner (whoever is ready). The companies almost face each other, all the cab drivers know them. Fare is around 150P.
