Players have never been able to fly in the starting zones introduced in Burning Crusade (Eversong Woods & Azuremyst Isle). It has to do with how Blizzard designed the zones before flying on Eastern Kingdoms / Kalimdor existed.
Vanilla Orgrimmar Zeppelin to Undercity is located outside of the city.
There are two good options.
- Just use the portal from the north of Eastern Plaguelands to Ghostlands and ride your mount to the north until you reach Eversong Woods and continue to ride.
- There is an only one flight point in Quel'thalas that Alliance players can reach near the dungeon of Zul'a.

And why can't we fly in it? The reason Ghostlands is in an instance along with the other zone that has Silvermoon City is because they were added in The Burning Crusade Expansion. One reason is because Silvermoon was never designed for flying above the city itself.
There isn't. Silvermoon City was not built with flying in mind, it's kind of like the fake Rock Ridge in Blazing Saddles - a huge front as far as design goes. Just a fun little fact here. A sufficiently clever and nimble Demon Hunter is able to get on top of Silvermoon… and potentially fall through the map entirely.
Eversong/Ghostlands/Azuremyst/Bloodmyst (and Quel'Danas) were originally placed on the Outland world server and instanced away from the rest of Azeroth as an easy way to keep players that didn't have Burning Crusade from getting there.
You need to get a [Flight Master's License] , which allows you to ride flying mounts in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. While a player may train for flight at level 60 and even purchase a flying mount, players who have not purchased the Cataclysm expansion will not be able to mount in the old world.
