How to clean your Apple products
- Use only a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Avoid excessive wiping, which might cause damage.

- Don't use aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives.
Using a spudger or small flathead screwdriver, gently break the seal between the white plastic backing and the metal top near the missing foot opening. Pry up the corner slightly to allow the foot to be replaced. Place the rubber foot back in place. Squeeze closed the backing and metal top (it will snap into place).
Apple says the Magic Trackpad 2 can last a month or more on a single charge, and it takes about two hours to charge it back up. Also gone is the silver color scheme—the Magic Trackpad 2 is all white, color matched to the keycaps of the Magic Keyboard rather than its aluminum frame.
Mix water and baking soda into a thick paste. Start with about a teaspoon of baking soda and add water a few drops at a time until it can be mixed into a thick paste. Apply the baking soda paste generously to any corroded areas using cotton swabs. Allow the paste to sit for 15 minutes.
Connect an Apple Wireless Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad with your Mac
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth. Open Bluetooth preferences for me.
- Select the keyboard, mouse, or trackpad in the Devices list, then click Connect.

Magic Mouse 2 is charged with a Lightning cable, the same cable you use to charge your iPhone and iPad. But the Lightning port is on the bottom of the mouse, so you can't use the mouse while it's being charged.

For the fastest battery charging performance, be sure your device is switched on when connected to the Lightning to USB Cable. Try the key combination Command+Option+Esc to bring up the Force Quit window. Use the up or down arrow keys to select Finder and then the Enter key to relaunch the Finder. See if that will unfreeze the mouse.

Windows users - Touchpad settings
- Press the Windows key , type touchpad, and select the Touchpad settings option in the search results.
- In the Touchpad window, make sure the Touchpad On/Off toggle switch is set to On. If it's Off, change it to be in the On position.
Resync your devices with the USB receiver.Sometimes the receiver gets out of sync with the wireless devices, causing them to stop working. Then press the Connect button on the keyboard and/or mouse and the flashing light on the USB receiver should stop. Your receiver is now synced with the keyboard and/or mouse.
Press and hold the power button to force your Mac to shut down. You can also force shutdown your Mac by pressing the Control+Option+Command+Eject keystroke combination.
