To enter BIOS by pressing Shift button + restarting the machine
- Log out of Windows and go to the sign in screen.
- Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen.
- Hold down the Shift key.
- Click Troubleshoot --> Advanced options --> UEFI Firmware Settings --> Restart.
Re: Yoga 2 pro USB boot optionRight next to the power button there's a small round button. Click it. That's the novo button, it'll let you choose between normal setup, boot menu, BIOS, and system recovery options. Select BIOS and change the boot menu to legacy support (not UEFI).
To enter BIOS via function key
- Turn the PC off.
- Turn the PC on.
- The PC screen displays the Lenovo logo.
- Immediately and repeatedly press (Fn+) F2.
Just turn of the computer. Instead of using the power button , use the novo key to turn on and it would show the Novo Menu. Second option is BIOS set up. Turn computer back on using power button and hold down FN key and F2 during start .
Step 2 Enter Boot Menu with Function Key or Novo Button
- Option 1: Plug in Windows 7 bootable USB disk (USB Stick). Restart the PC, then press F12 (Fn+F12) to boot from USB disk.

Solution
- Press and hold the volume up button, then press the round start button for three seconds (see Fig. 1).
- Load the NOVO button menu, then select BIOS Setup to enter BIOS settings. Fig.3.
- BIOS settings start with the Information page which is for information only. Switch to the Configuration tab to set settings.
Enabling PXE Boot for Lenovo ThinkPad
- Boot up the computer.
- Press F2 -> press Enter -> press F1.
- Select Security -> select Secure Boot -> set to Disable -> select Start Up -> select UEFI/Legacy Boot -> set to Legacy Only -> press F10.
- Reboot then press F12.
- You should now be at the boot menu.
- Press Enter.
- First is to do a hard reboot, unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again. - If it will still load into a blank black screen connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it.
Start by doing a hard reboot: Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Then, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and try booting it up again. If this does not work, do test the AC adapter to see if it's working properly. Remove the battery and power the laptop with just the AC adapter connected.
Press and hold the power key for up to 30 seconds to perform a force reboot on the device. Tip: If reboot was not successful you should attempt the reboot while connected to a wall charger.
Press the power button at the black screen until your computer turns off. Hold the shift and F8 keys and then press the power button again. If you see a black screen again, retry these steps. From the recovery screen, select See advanced repair options, then Troubleshoot, Startup Settings, and Restart.
