If you don't know the persons carrier or its prepaid, it's a little harder, but can be done if you're communicating with them. Now, it is hard to ANONYMOUSLY pay someone's bill, especially if it's prepaid. Most POSTPAID (contract) bills can be done at a carrier store with a minimal amount of knowledge.
Contact your service provider as soon as possible to explain the situation and ask if you can go on a payment plan to pay off what you owe. You might be charged extra for not making a payment if you don't contact your provider to arrange a payment plan. Your service provider will work out the amount you have to pay.
A promise to pay is a commitment to pay a certain amount by a specific date to prevent collections activity. You can set up a promise to pay arrangement in My Verizon on the Make a Payment Arrangement page with your smartphone, tablet or computer browser.
The only grace period is that they will not shut off your phone immediately after missing a bill. It's like 7 bucks to set up payment deferral. It's usually a $5 late fee after due date. Been with Verizon for a long time, they have always waived late fee when I call in.
Anyone can make a payment to any account. Call in and speak to a rep and state that you want to pay on a bill that is not yours and give them a phone number that is on your friend's account.

When you pay off your device: You continue paying your monthly costs for your talk, text and data plan, but you no longer have a device payment charge on your monthly bill.
Walmart is an authorized payment center for PG&E, SDG&E and SoCalGas meaning customers can pay bills from these companies without incurring a convenience fee. To pay a bill, customers should bring their bill stub to a participating Walmart MoneyCenter or customer service desk.

- Account number: Can be found on your bill or online account by logging in online and going to Account then Account overview. The account number is listed at the top, and it ends in -00001 but should be entered without the dash.
- PIN number: A four-digit number.
We are customers helping customers. it has been standard practice that if one day into your cycle it cannot be prorated. That is why you cancel a few days before the end date of service. its the same way on the wireless side.
Simply call Verizon Customer Service at 800–922–0204 and tell them what you're trying to do. They can connect you to a specialist who can resolve the past due account situation and advise on the possibility of reinstating your account.
Verizon has retired our email service. We have completed our notifications regarding this change, and customers no longer have the option to keep their Verizon.net email address or extract and move their data to another service provider. For support and help with your email, please contact your email provider directly.
If you log into your Verizon account and click on 'My Verizon', the account number is displayed. If you have any of your old paper bills, the account number is displayed. That only works if they have a postpaid account.
To reconnect your service in My Verizon:
- Go to the Suspend or Reconnect Service page in My Verizon.
- Select the mobile number you want to reconnect service for.
- Tap or click Next.
- Tap or click Submit to reconnect service for the same device.
