You will need to setup all accounts on the Authenticator again. Google do not have a copy of the codes, as that information is only generated locally on your device, and not synced to the Google servers. I deleted my Google Authenticator, lost all my creditentials.
Turn off 2-Step Verification
- On your Android phone or tablet, open your device's Settings app Google. Manage your Google Account.
- At the top, tap Security.
- Under "Signing in to Google," tap 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in.
- Tap Turn off.
- Confirm by tapping Turn off.
2-step verification makes your Google account exponentially more secure. But you still aren't invincible to hackers. For those who don't use it, 2-step authentication means you have to use your password to log in and one other unique code (usually sent via text, phone call, or an app like Google Authenticator).
My phone was lost or stolen
- Use backup options. If you've lost access to your primary phone, you can select to have codes sent to backup phones.
- Sign in from a trusted computer.
- Get a new phone from your carrier.
- Fill out our Account Recovery form.
- Use backup options.
- Contact your administrator.
Step 1: Install the Authenticator app on your new iPhone or Android phone. Step 2: Visit Google's two-step verification site on your computer. Log in to your Google account to view your current 2FA settings. Make sure you have both your old and new phone nearby when moving Google Authenticator.
Google Authenticator protects your Google account from keyloggers and password theft. With two-factor authentication, you'll need both your password and an authentication code to log in. The Google Authenticator app runs on Android, iPhone, iPod, iPad and BlackBerry devices.
Click on your profile photo in the upper-right side of your Gmail page, click the “My Account” button and then click “Signing into Google.” Enter your account password if asked, and click “2-Step Verification” on the next screen.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is the requirement of additional verification beyond a username and password. Common examples of 2FA verification include security questions, SMS (short messaging service) messages, and push notifications. More than two requirements may be added to the authentication process.
Follow steps below to turn off 2-factor authentication for your Apple ID.
- Sign in to appleid.apple.com. Go to the “Security” section. Then click “Edit” if you are using a desktop browser.
- Tap on "Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication".
If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off. Certain features in the latest versions of iOS and macOS require this extra level of security, which is designed to protect your information. If you recently updated your account, you can unenroll within two weeks of enrollment.
Apple ID Verification: What you can do about it
- Log out of iCloud. Settings → [your Name] → Sign Out.
- Unlink/delete devices from your Apple ID. Next, go to the following web address and log in using your Apple ID, then check out the list of Devices and View Details for each of them.
- Log in to your iCloud account.
