Text messages (SMS, MMS, iMessage) from blocked contacts (numbers or email addresses) do not appear anywhere on your device. Unblocking the contact does NOT show any messages sent to you when it was blocked. Calls go through as if they're ignored, text messages go through with no indication, and iMessages are the same.
Hi Asb328, welcome to the
Android Messages User Forum! As far as I know, "
blocked"
messages are actually
BLOCKED and
do not get sent to your phone. They basically don't exist.
Steps to view blocked messages.
- Open messages app.
- Tap More Archived.
- You will find all your archived and blocked messages here.
Blocking contacts via Messages
When a blocked number tries to send you a text message, it won't go through, and they will likely never see the “delivered” note. On your end, you'll see nothing at all. You'll still get the messages, but they'll be delivered to a separate “Unknown Senders” inbox. If you getting annoyed by the blocked notifications too then you have the options to hide that. To enable “Don't Show Block Notifications”, Go to Settings-->Security-->Anti-harassment/Fraud--> Block Notifications-->Don't Show Block Notifications.
Your personal blacklist is the key to preventing unwanted spam, scams, and phone harassment. When someone calls you from a phone number on your personal blacklist, they'll hear a message saying that your phone number has been disconnected and is no longer in service.
Unblock a number
- Open your Phone app .
- Tap More .
- Tap Settings. Blocked numbers.
- Next to the number you want to unblock, tap Clear. Unblock.
Although they can't message your after you block them, you'll still be able to see past conversations unless you delete them.
If you choose to stay in the group, you'll be able to see messages from the person you blocked in the group. If the person you blocked sends you any messages in Direct, you won't receive those messages, and they won't be delivered later if you unblock them.
If you call a phone and hear the normal number of rings before getting sent to voicemail, then it's a normal call. If you're blocked, you would only hear a single ring before being diverted to voicemail. An unusual ring pattern doesn't necessarily mean your number is blocked.
Android phones don't have that “delivered” message on texting, and even an iPhone user won't see the “delivered” notification while texting an Android user. Of course, this doesn't automatically mean that person has blocked your phone number; your call may be diverted to voicemail for other reasons.
Note: Keep in mind that even after blocking a contact, your phone will continue to receive their texts; you'll just no longer be alerted about them, and they'll all be archived under the Block contacts screen. Once you unblock a contact, all their old messages will reappear, including the (sort of) blocked ones.
From the Phone app Settings menu, locate and tap Call blocking from the list of options. The Blocked numbers screen contains the list of numbers you blocked. Locate the one (or more) that you want to unblock and tap the X to the right of it.
Android: Blocking from Android applies to calls and texts. If you block someone from texting you from your Boost account settings, they get a message that you have chosen not to receive messages. Though it doesn't say 'chosen not to receive messages FROM YOU,' your ex BFF will probably know you blocked them.
Simply put, after you block a number, that caller can no longer reach you. The recipient will also receive your text messages, but will not be able to effectively respond, since you won't receive incoming texts from the number you've blocked.
Note: If you unblock a contact, you won't receive any messages, calls or status updates the contact sent you during the time they were blocked. If you unblock a contact or phone number that wasn't previously saved in your phone's address book, you won't be able to restore that contact or phone number to your device.
Well, start with the steps below.
- Go to your Viber group chat.
- Look for the contact you suspected.
- Send a message to the contact.
- Check to see if your message was seen after some hours.
- Check if the person is active in the group. If he replies to their messages but not yours, you have been blocked.
Open the App drawer, and go to Settings. In the Settings screen, scroll down to the Blocking mode option, and tap the slider to turn on this mode. Tap on the text to access the options inside this mode. Inside Blocking mode, you will find options to disable incoming calls, notifications, alarms and timers.
You will not be able to send messages or make phone calls to contacts you have blocked. Your profile information will be visible to the blocked contact if you were saved in their contact list before the block, but they will not see any changes made to that information.
If you have their contact saved in your mobile before blocking them then they will be able to see your profile picture which you had at the time when you blocked them. But they won't get any updates on your profile after blocking.
Since the August update 'online' is when the Viber app is open and active, so the person is in the app, calling, messaging or in the settings and the screen is active, not switched off. This changes to ' Last Seen …. ' when the app is running in the background, screen is switched off or the app is closed down.
Well, now you can delete that message from your own phone and it will be deleted from the devices of everyone you sent it to immediately. It works with both 1-on-1 or group messages. Remember, though, if you delete a message that someone else has sent to you, it will only be removed from your own device.
The blocking means you will not get any message from the blocked person, but also the blocked messages should be discarded in general. This means the blocked person might be able to see a delivered message only when you unblock him for a while and he/she text you during that period.
When you block a contact on Viber they can no longer call you or send messages, see any changes you made or add you to a group. Learn more about how to block contacts, see who those contacts are and even unblock them.
What happens when you block someone on Instagram. Blocking people on Instagram means they won't be able to find your profile, posts, or story on the app. And don't worry, people don't receive a notification if you block them. If people you block mention you on Instagram, it won't appear in your activity.
