Echo Show might look like a tablet, but it's not one. It runs Alexa skills, not apps, just like the Echo and Echo Dot. According to The Verge, you will not be able to download apps from the Amazon Appstore or Google Play on Echo Show.
Just say, "Alexa, turn off the screen." To turn the screen back on, touch it or use your device's wake word (which, by default, is "Alexa"). You can also turn your Echo Show completely off by pressing the mute button for a few seconds.
Your photos are safely backed up in your Amazon Photos account, and you can see them on the device of your choice, including the Echo Show or Fire TV. You can even set a screensaver on your Fire TV, and it's so fun to see your personal photos and videos on the biggest screen in your home.
2.Use the Alexa app
- Open the Alexa app.
- Tap More.
- Tap Skills and Games.
- Find a skill you want to add to your collection.
- On the skill's description page, you'll see the option to Enable to use - tap it.
Set Up Your Echo Show
- Select a language.
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Log into your Amazon account.
- Confirm your time zone.
- Confirm your address.
- Confirm the location of your device.
- Choose a name for your device.
- Choose a wallpaper for your device.
Add Photos in Family Vault Using a Web Browser
- Open Amazon Photos.
- Select photos you want to share.
- Click on Share from the top menu bar.
- From the pop-up window, select the Family Vault tab.
- Click on Add to Family Vault.

You can place and receive voice calls with an Echo. The Alexa app also supports Alexa-to-Alexa calling on iPhone with iOS 9.0 or higher, and an Android phone with Android 5.0 or higher. With an Echo Show, you can place and receive video calls.
The Echo Show streams Netflix TV shows and movies up to 540p SD resolution. During playback, press the bubble at the top of the screen to set up subtitles and alternate language audio. Control playback or play a title using voice-activated controls with Amazon Alexa.
At any given time, users can also mute Drop In by asking Alexa to turn on the “Do Not Disturb” function and that both parties must consent to using Drop In.
Monitoring the child is not limited to audio if you've got an Echo Show or Echo Spot. Position them so the camera points at the baby, and you can monitor from another Show or Spot, or via the Alexa app.
Using your Alexa Display Device, such as Echo Show or Echo Spot, you can now instantly view over 12,000 publicly available webcams from around the world! Then each time you start the skill or say "Show my Favorite" it will show that webcam and even periodically update it on your screen!
Today Amazon announced the latest addition to its Amazon Echo line of Alexa-enabled devices. The Echo Look is the first Echo device to include a camera. Echo Look is being positioned as an Alexa device that can also take your picture or capture video hands free.
Take pictures!Tell Alexa to take your picture, and the Echo Show will open a camera app with three different camera options. Tap on an option to select it, or tell Alexa the number of the camera you want to use. Then smile as the camera snaps your pic.
Open the the Amazon Alexa app, then go to the Conversation screen (chat bubble icon from the bottom nav bar), and tap Drop In. You will be presented with a list of your Echo devices you can Drop In on and contacts you can Drop In on at any time. Simply select one to initiate a Drop In.
Compact displayUse it to check the weather, watch videos, listen to podcasts, and much more. You'll also be able to control your Alexa-enabled smart home devices. The front-facing camera makes it easy to make video calls.
Verify your files meet requirements.
- Open Amazon Photos.
- Select the Add icon on the top right.
- Choose Upload photos or Upload folder.
- Click the photos you want to upload.
Upload Photos and Videos Using the Android App
- Open Amazon Photos.
- Press and hold the photo until a check mark appears.
- If you want to select more photos or videos, tap once on each additional one. De-select a checked item by tapping it again.
- Tap the upload icon.
At the moment, it's not possible to access your favorites or individual playlists that you've created on Deezer with Amazon Alexa, but you can still access your Flow and over 56 million songs, albums and Deezer editor playlists. You can also request Amazon Alexa to play an album or song using the voice commands.
On your Echo Show say “Alexa, call Mom” (or whatever name or nickname you put in your Alexa Contacts). (Note: the first time Alexa may ask if you want her mobile phone or Alexa devices… choose Alexa devices.) Your Mom's Echo Show should offer her the option to answer.
How to Use a Photo from Your iPhone as Your Echo Show Background
- Open the Alexa app on your iPhone.
- Choose Devices at the bottom of the screen.
- Select All Devices or Echo & Alexa.
- Choose the Echo Show.
- Select the Home Screen Background option.
- Scroll down and tap Add a photo from this device.
To get started, visit the app store on your mobile device and download the Prime Photos app for either Android or iPhone. Install and run the app and log in with your Amazon credentials. If prompted to allow “Prime Photos” to access your photos, do so.
