The good news is the team flies back from Cleveland on Saturday. The buses are new to David Wolf, a 25-year-old AHL rookie who played three years in the elite German league. Back home, road trips look more like they do in the NHL — flights to a city for maybe a couple days.
With a new set of rules heading into the 2016-17 campaign, the AHL is cracking down on fighting. The newly minted rules state that any player reaching 10 fights during the regular season will be assessed a one-game suspension, with each subsequent fighting major earning them another one-game suspension.

Travel is a fact of life in hockey. That's especially true for the officials, who are on the road even more frequently that the players. For referees and linesmen, there is no such thing as a homestand or even a home game unless you happen to live in the immediate vicinity of a particular arena.
