In chemistry, the concentration is usually expressed in moles per dm3. This is often shortened to M, so a solution with a concentration of 0.01 moles per dm3 can be written as 0.01 M. A solution that contains 1 mole of solute per dm3 is often called a molar solution.
The decimetre (SI symbol dm) or decimeter (American spelling) is a unit of length in the metric system, equal to one tenth of a metre (the International System of Units base unit of length), ten centimetres or 3.937 inches.
grams per decimetre cubed
These are the same measurement; there is no difference in volume. The primary difference is that milliliters are used for fluid amounts while cubic centimeters are used for solids. No matter what is being measured, 1 cc always equals 1 mL.
To find the number of moles in a solution, multiply the concentration by the volume in dm3. Again, if the volume is in cm3, divide the volume by 1000 first to convert it into dm3. To find the volume of a solution, divide the moles by the concentration in mol dm–3.
The conversion factor is 0.001; so 1 cubic centimeter = 0.001 cubic decimeters. In other words, the value in cm3 divide by 1000 to get a value in dm3.
A Cubic Decimeter corresponds to the volume of a cube with 1 decimeter of edge. The cubic decimeter is widely used because of the ease with which this measure is converted to liters. This is because 1 cubic decimeter equals 1 liter, this makes the conversion instantaneous.
What is the more common name for dm3? The common SI unit of volume is the cubic meter (m3). Because the cubic meter is a large quantity in chemical laboratory measurements, the cubic decimeter (dm3) and cubic centimeter (cm3 or cc) are used.
It is equal to 1 cubic decimetre (dm3), 1000 cubic centimetres (cm3) or 0.001 cubic metre (m3). A cubic decimetre (or litre) occupies a volume of 10 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm (see figure) and is thus equal to one-thousandth of a cubic metre.

1. cubic decimeter - a metric unit of capacity, formerly defined as the volume of one kilogram of pure water under standard conditions; now equal to 1,000 cubic centimeters (or approximately 1.75 pints) cubic decimetre, l, liter, litre.
The Full form of DM is Direct Message. DM is a social media term that allows private messages between users of a social network. Direct Message (DM) is a messaging function in many social media applications and only visible to the sender and recipient(s).
cm3↔dm3 1 dm3 = 1000 cm3.
Volume. Since volume is length cubed, its SI derived unit is m3. Related units are the cubic centimeter (cm3) and the cubic decimeter (dm3). One liter of volume is equal to 1000 mililiters (mL), and one mililiter of volume is equal to one cubic centimeter.
The SI unit of volume is the cubic meter (m3), which is a derived unit. Liter (L) is a special name for the cubic decimeter (dm3). The symbol for the liter is uppercase letter “ell†(L) is preferred to avoid the risk of confusion between the lowercase letter “ell†(l) and the number one (1).
