Press TAB, enter Magic and choose the Call Dragon Shout as active. Look towards the sky and hold down Z. Now you will have to be patient, as Odahviing will take some time before coming here. In the meantime, I'd suggest opening the Shouts menu and setting the Dragonrend Shout as active.
Exiting through the doors behind the throne room to the Great Porch (which Esbern incorrectly calls the "Courtyard") allows Odahviing to be called and trapped, using first the Call Dragon shout to lure him out, and then Dragonrend to force him down from the sky.
Acquisition. This shout is given to the Dragonborn near the end of the main story quest "The Fallen" in order to call the dragon Odahviing to capture him inside Dragonsreach. It can also be obtained from Esbern during "Season Unending."

The best way to find a dragon is at one of the many shout word altars. They appear as dragon heads on your map and compass. The easiest one I can tell you about is near Ivarstead. Just go south from there, and you will eventually get a dragon head icon to show up on your compass.

Learning ShoutsIn the bottom right corner of the menu is the number of dragon souls available to use. These accumulate as dragons are killed. According to the Greybeards, a Dragonborn absorbs the knowledge of the words from the dragon's soul.
Bend Will is a dragon shout obtained by progressing through the Dragonborn expansion's main questline. The final word, taught to you by Hermaeus Mora at the end of The Gardener of Men, allows you to temporarily tame and ride dragons, much like Miraak.
Summoning. Once freed, Odahviing becomes a friendly Dragon that helps the Dragonborn. He can be summoned by using the Call Dragon shout which is learned during the quest "The Fallen." He may only be summoned outdoors.
After all he is a dragon and need space to be summoned at. In order to call Durnehviir, you must press AND hold the shout, while pointing to the ground in front of you.
Odahviing can be tamed and ridden by traveling to the Throat of the World where he circles the summit. Once in the sky, the Dragon will begin a circular flight pattern, not unlike the Dragons you might see in the wild. You will not be able to directly control how the Dragon flies.
The way to get him out of there is to just start the first Companions quest. Make sure he is no longer sitting in his chair in the corner of Jorvaskr, and then you should be able to continue when he is in the room with Odahviing.

Why do I have multiple Drain Vitality shouts? This can occur if you learn either the 2nd or 3rd word of the 'Marked For Death' shout while having Dawnguard installed. These extra shouts are harmless and do not effect functionality.
