A template is a form, mold, or pattern used as a guide to making something. Here are some examples: A ruler is a template when used to draw a straight line. A document in which the standard opening and closing parts are already filled in is a template that you can copy and then fill in the variable parts.
Text processing is the automated process of analyzing text data for getting structured information. You might not be familiar with the term, but chances are the apps and services you use daily are carrying out text processing under the hood whenever you use them. Let's paint you a picture.
A word processing file contains user information in plain text or rich text format. In contrast, a rich text file format allows formatting options such as setting fonts type, styles (bold, italic, underline, etc.), page margins, headings, bullets and numbers, and several other formatting features.
Text Creation and Manipulation. The primary interfaces you need to create and manipulate Unicode text strings, whether styled or unstyled, are provided by IText. It gives you access to the storage mechanism and provides a complete set of protocols for accessing and manipulating both the character and the style data.
Some of the functions of word processing software include:
- Creating, editing, saving and printing documents.
- Copying, pasting, moving and deleting text within a document.
- Formatting text, such as font type, bolding, underlining or italicizing.
- Creating and editing tables.
A spreadsheet is a sheet of paper that shows accounting or other data in rows and columns; a spreadsheet is also a computer application program that simulates a physical spreadsheet by capturing, displaying, and manipulating data arranged in rows and columns.
Curve text around a circle or other shape
- Go to Insert > WordArt, and pick the WordArt style you want.
- Replace the WordArt placeholder text with your own text.
- Select your WordArt text.
- Go to Shape Format or Drawing Tools Format, select Text Effects >Transform and pick the look you want.

Move Text Around Your Word Document
- Click and drag the selected text where you want it.
- Copy the text by pressing ctrl-c, place the cursor where you want the text and then paste it in by pressing ctrl-v.
- Cut the text by pressing ctrl-x, place the cursor where you want the text and then paste it in by pressing ctrl-v.
Create a signature line in Word or Excel

- On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click the Signature Line list, and then click Microsoft Office Signature Line.
Text manipulation refers to the "processing" part of word processing. Text can be automatically checked for spelling and for conformance to basic grammatical principles as the text is entered and edited.
Text wrap is a feature supported by many word processors that enables you to surround a picture or diagram with text. The text wraps around the graphic. Text wrap in HTML is most fequently used to describe wrapping of text around an image in the HTML code.
To convert regular text into WordArt:
- Select the text you want to convert, then click the Insert tab. Clicking the Insert tab.
- Click the WordArt drop-down arrow in the Text group.
- Word will automatically create a text box for the text, and the text will appear in the selected style.
To use your favorite font in Word all the time, set it as the default.
- Go to Format > Font > Font. You can also press and hold. + D to open the Font dialog box.
- Select the font and size you want to use.
- Select Default, and then select Yes.
- Select OK.
Justify text
- In the Paragraph group, click the Dialog Box Launcher. , and select the Alignment drop-down menu to set your justified text.
- You can also use the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + J to justify your text.
If you have not Classic Menu for Word 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 installed, you can …
- Select the text you want to justify.
- Click Home tab.
- Go to Paragraph group.
- Click the Justify button, which is located in the middle of the group.
Justify Paragraphs for a Clean Finish but Avoid Wide Gaps in Text
- Select the text you want to block justify.
- Right-click on the text, and click Paragraph.
- On the Indents and Spacing tab, click the drop-down next to Alignment, and click Justified, OK.
- Right-click on the text again, and click Format, Font.
Place your cursor in the text editor where you'd like to insert the anchor. You can click a word or place your cursor immediately before it. Or, you can highlight text. The anchor will be placed immediately above this location.
Open the Microsoft Word document that contains the text boxes that you want to lock. Right-click on the text box you want to lock and then click on the "Format TexBox" option.
Locking text boxes in a Word document lets you prevent others from tampering with or making inadvertent changes to these text-entry controls. Open a Word document that has text boxes. Click the "Review" tab, then click the "Restrict Editing" button in the Protect group.
Justifying text disrupts that even texture. Even if a page layout program is using subtle letter-spacing, or adjusting the width of the letters – these things, too, will make the texture uneven. So, justified text should really be avoided not just on the web, but whenever possible.
Click the "Home" tab and then select the "Distributed" button in the Paragraph group. Alternatively, press "Ctrl-Shift-J." This applies a full justification effect that evenly distributes spaces in both words and characters.
To drag and drop text
- Select the text you want to move . click here to view image.
- Move the cursor over the selected text.
- Click and hold your mouse button over the selected text, and drag it to its new location, releasing the mouse button when the cursor is where you want the text .
To insert a special character:
- From the Insert tab, click Symbol.
- Click More Symbols.
- Select the Special Characters tab.
- Choose the character you want to insert, and select Insert.
- Step 1: Insert a Freeform Drag-and-Drop Question. There are two ways to create a drag-and-drop question.

In computer graphical user interfaces, drag and drop is a pointing device gesture in which the user selects a virtual object by "grabbing" it and dragging it to a different location or onto another virtual object.
In Word 2010 the steps are a bit different:
- Place your text box, as normal.
- Right-click on the text box.
- Choose Format Shape from the Context menu.
- At the left side of the dialog box click Fill.
- Use the Transparency slider to adjust how transparent you want the Text Box to be.
Move a picture, shape, text box, or WordArt
To move in small increments, press and hold Ctrl while pressing an arrow key. And to move the object horizontally or vertically only, press and hold Shift while you drag it.To group objects:
- Hold the Shift (or Ctrl) key and click the objects you want to group. Selecting multiple objects.
- From the Format tab, click the Group command and select Group. Grouping objects.
- The selected objects will now be grouped.
