It lets you answer an incoming call while you're currently on another call. It can be a handy feature so that you can take calls without your line being tied up. Truecaller's Availability feature makes it possible for you to know if the person you're about to call is busy or not. For example, if you see a red dot next to that number it means that the person is busy, either on a call, in a meeting or has the phone on silent mode.

Don't put a person on hold multiple times in one call. Don't leave the caller holding for more than two minutes without checking in. Never make her call you back; you should always offer to return the call.
"No, I don't mind." or "OK, I'll wait." Note that one's response is often NOT waited for, so it often doesn't matter if you say, no, yes, or 'the sky if falling,' you're going to be on hold.
According to research from Velaro, all it takes is waiting on hold for one minute and almost 60% of customers will hang up. In a survey of “more than 2,500 consumers, nearly 60% of respondents believe that one minute is too long to be on hold,” PRWeb reports.
imo, it is rude. Nobody likes to be blown off, which is what you're doing by putting them on hold to deal with someone else. Imagine a call center agent putting you on hold to answer another call - neither professional nor kind.

Hold On a Sec. Explanation: This is fairly straightforward. "Sec" in this context is one "second." You're basically telling someone to wait because you are about to say something else.
"Please hold on to the line" does make sense, but it's the wrong sense. It would mean that you are holding a line in your hand, or that you are hanging from a line (it could be, for example, a washing-line) -- and you shouldn't let go.
The answer is, generally no, but there are Exceptions. The agent that puts you on hold will hear nothing while you're on hold. The exception to this is if they actually only muted their mic, making you think you're on hold. Some configurations of recording software will record you even while on hold or in an IVR queue.
If caller ID is not showing after update to iOS 13/12/11, there could be a problem on the other end. Chances are that the person who calls you has disabled "Show My Caller ID" option. Therefore, ask that person to look over this thing by going to "Settings" > "Phone" > "Show My Caller ID", and turn it on if it is off.
The likelihood of someone being recorded while on hold is highly probable. According to a New York Times article, hundreds of millions of customer service calls take place every year, and millions of those are monitored. In some instances, however, companies use them to prove that a customer said or did something.
Mention the name of your company. How often should you update a caller who is on hold? every minuteonce, after the first minuteevery two to three minutesonly when you have something new to sayWhen leaving a message, which of the following should you include? Select all that apply.
No matter what carrier you use, you can mute the caller on your iPhone so that they can't hear what you're doing. If you're using a GSM carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile, you can place a call on hold, which mutes both ends and allows you to place another call.
There is no need of any apps to do this. Goto Call settings (it may be either in your settings or in dialer app) --> Calling Account --> Additional settings (it may load for 5 seconds) --> Uncheck Call waiting check box. Now you have done. When any of your family member call they won't get a busy tone.
If call waiting is off, inbound callers will hear a busy signal or get sent to voicemail, depending on your phone settings. Call waiting only works for two inbound calls. A third caller will hear a busy signal, get sent to voicemail or be otherwise routed based on what other phone system features you have in place.
