From the Word menu bar, click "Word" -> "Preferences". Change the language to "Simplified Chinese/Traditional Chinese" depends on which phonetic guide you use. Restart Word 2016. Highlight the text and click the "Phonetic Guide" icon.
Keyboards in China are mostly QWERTY keyboards, with your traditional English alphabet in the QWERTY arrangements. Also on that QWERTY Keyboard are different basic Chinese characters. Most characters in the Chinese language can be "written" through a combination of these "root" characters.
Turn on Handwriting
- On your Android phone or tablet, open any app that you can type in, like Gmail or Keep.
- Tap where you can enter text.
- At the top left of the keyboard, tap Open features menu .
- Tap Settings .
- Tap Languages.
- Swipe right and turn on the Handwriting layout.
- Tap Done.
Unlike English, Chinese doesn't have alphabet. Each character is unique. Many of them have same radicals, but they are not same, which made the printing and typing very difficult for long time.
Chinese families usually give their new baby a name made up of two syllables from the Chinese alphabet, each with individual meanings. Because there are thousands of characters in the Chinese alphabet, it's rare to find two people with the same first name. Some characters are used more often than others, though.
There is no original alphabet native to China. China has its Pinyin system though sometimes the term is used anyway to refer to logographic Chinese characters (sinograms). It is more appropriately used, though, for phonemic transcriptions such as pinyin.
Japanese people use a Japanese keyboard to type. Japanese keyboard has an alphabet letter and a Hiragana letter on the key top. There are two methods to type, Romaji Nyuuryoku (Romaji Input) and Kana Nyuuryoku (Kana Input). For instance, we type K U R U M A, then IME displays ??? in Hiragana.
PinYin just means you type in English, and whatever the Chinese word sounds like in English, you type it out, and then you can select the correct word that you want to type. The standard way is the more efficient way, because it is faster, and you don't need to know English to use it.
It takes a learner with average aptitude only 15 weeks to reach level 2 for Spanish or French, but about 50 weeks to reach a similar level of the Chinese language. If you want to be fully fluent in Mandarin, you'd better plan to spend about 230 weeks, which is about 4 years.
Pinyin is the special system, created for people to learn Mandarin pronunciation. Pinyin transcribes the Chinese characters so people can pronounce it. It may be used as an input method to enter Chinese characters into computers or electronics as well. The writing of Pinyin is similar to English alphabet.
