Sandbox design can either describe a game or a game mode, with an emphasis on free-form gameplay, relaxed rules, and minimal goals. Sandbox design can also describe a type of game development, where a designer slowly adds features to a minimal game experience, experimenting with each element one at a time.
You don't get all dinosaurs at once, they have to be discovered as you go through dig sites. Build an Expedition Center and a Fossil Center and you can send teams on digs around the world to uncover and ultimately unlock new dinosaur specimens.
Sandbox is available only when its module is plugged in on the Main Menu. The module can be found by the Reclamation Bin in the Museum. After reclaiming it and completing the scene, it will appear in a Bonebox. it can then be plugged in to a socket near the left wall to unlock sandbox as a mode of play.

In order to play the game's sandbox mode and unlock unlimited money, you'll need to head back to the first island, Isla Matanceros. This island is the first of the “Five Deaths,†the name given to the Muertes archipelago you'll build your parks on throughout the game.
To obtain one for yourself, you will need both an Expedition Center and a Fossil Center. Once you have both of those built on an island, you can send expedition teams to search dig sites for new fossils and on the second island known as Isla Matanceros, the velociraptor fossil can be obtained.
How to Start the Sandbox Mode
- Head to the main menu screen. If you're already in the campaign, just back out by pressing escape, and then clicking the Main Menu button.
- Click the Play button on the main menu screen.
- Click the Sandbox button.
- Choose any unlocked map you'd like to play on.
Sandbox Mode is unlocked at the end of the last storyline mission Son of Medici. Everything that is past the last mission is a part of this mode. The mode differs from normal free-roam gameplay in that there is a chance to "re-oppress" any liberated settlement.
Obtaining. Tools can be acquired via the ranking system (see Ranks for more detail) in Teardown, with each rank up to Ballistic awarding a new tool. Tools are delivered to the player's home in crates and can be picked up to get them.
In order to unlock Sandbox Mode and the ability to create the park of your dreams with unlimited money, all you need to do is get your first island in the campaign, Isla Matanceros, up to a four-star rating. Although this sounds easy enough, there's a lot of work you need to do to get to this rating.
