Go to chrome://settings/, then go all the way down to the bottom of the page and click Show advanced settings Under Privacy click Content Settings Under Images click ?Show all images (recommended).
In the YouTube Studio app, tap Menu then Videos. Select the video you want to edit the thumbnail for. Select your thumbnail: Tap Custom thumbnail to upload a custom video thumbnail from an image on your device.
Android: YouTube now shows video previews in the Home panel, which uses up data and is otherwise just annoying. Happily you can turn them off. Just tap your profile picture at top-right, then tap Settings > Autoplay. Turn off the “Autoplay on Home” toggle, as shown above, and you're done.

A standard YouTube account doesn't come with the ability to upload custom thumbnails by default. To gain this ability, you need to first verify your account. Here's how you can verify your YouTube account in 2019: Log in to YouTube.
But, you can unlock the ability to upload a custom thumbnail just by verifying your YouTube account. Just go into account settings and click verify – then it will ask for a phone # for them to text a verification code to. That's it. They just want to make sure you are a real person.
How to turn off autoplay videos in the YouTube app
- Open YouTube.

How to turn on autoplay on YouTube on desktop
- Go to youtube.com and log into your account, if necessary.
- Play a video by clicking on it.
- In the video player, click the "Settings" button — it's the gear icon in the bottom toolbar of the player.
- Toggle the "Autoplay" switch back on in the Settings pop-up menu.
- Open the YouTube app.
- Tap to play a video.
Users can click to open the full-screen story, while an overflow menu in the top-right allows users to “Manage recommendations.” Tapping opens a “Stories recommendations” sheet that allows you to remove “stories you're not interested in.” This feature is likely still rolling out as part of an A/B test.
