Click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and select the mouse, keyboard, or trackpad. A box should appear that shows the charge status (in gray).
An LED light on the corner of the keyboard flashes when charging. When full, stays on solid. Just charge it overnight. It will be complete.
If your keys still don't work, try plugging your keyboard in to the other USB ports. Be sure to try them all. Check to see if the keyboard's Caps Lock light turns on when you press it, and try typing in an app like Notes or TextEdit. Magic Keyboard and Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad use a Lightning to USB cable.

If the keyboard has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, use the charging cable to charge the keyboard: 1. Connect the microUSB end of the charging cable to the rechargeable keyboard. 2. Connect the USB end of the charging cable to an available USB port on your computer, or to any USB charging device.
Slide the switch to turn on the device (green coloring becomes visible). Earlier Apple Wireless Keyboard models have a power button on the right side of the device. Press the button and you see a green LED on the top of the device, near the button.
When it's time to charge your device's battery, connect a Lightning to USB cable to its Lightning port, then connect the other end of the cable to your Mac or a USB power adapter. For the fastest battery charging performance, be sure your device is switched on when connecting the Lightning to USB cable.
Our favorite wireless keyboard never needs to be charged. Everyone has a wireless keyboard these days because they're so much more convenient. Well, there's actually one way that they're far less convenient than wired keyboards: you have to charge them or swap out the batteries every so often.
How do they recharge? A Lightning cable! Just like the iPhone, iPad, and new Apple TV controller, the company's new Magic accessories all come with a Lightning-to-USB cable. Plug the Lightning end into the Magic accessory and the USB end into your Mac or an optional USB adapter, and charge away.
Connect the USB end of the charging cable to your preferred USB charging outlet. The LED will light red and stay lit until your Limitless Keyboard is fully charged. 3. When the red LED turns off, your Limitless Keyboard is fully charged.
In System Preferences, click Keyboard, then select "Show keyboard and emoji viewers in menu bar." Choose the keyboard icon in your menu bar, then choose Show Keyboard Viewer. You'll see a graphical representation of your keyboard that highlights the corresponding keys you press on your keyboard.

Here's how to do it:
