Make sure to wear a balaclava under your fursuit head! It will keep the sweat out so the foam will not soak it up and make your head smelly! Wash your fursuit head once and a while so not only will it smell nice, it will have clean fur!
To glue, peel the two pieces apart and run a zigzag bead of hot glue underneath the fur on to the foam, avoiding the two edges. Pull the two edges together and press them at the same time gently into the foam, avoiding getting any glue on the fur. To see a video of this technique, click here!
Large heads take more than smaller ones, and while yes about 2 yards total is a good estimate, I'd add an extra half yard just in case per color. I also would like to point out that some ear types, such as lop style (I made a lop rabbit head as an early try) can take about 1.5 yards EACH.
