Being able to slightly customize the appearance of our soldiers will add value into the game. It doesn’t have to be a full-on customization system either, just enough to make characters unique without taking away the unique appearance of those specific classes.
You can customize your loadout in game and purchase new weapons with war bonds in between spawns, but there is not currently a method to customize soldier appearance. You can also change your loadout and buy weapons and gadgets on the BF1 web app here:
You can do it if you log in to the EA website for Battlefield and edit your persistent loadouts from there. Then that setup will stay consistent throughout matches (i found that if you dont change it on the website, then the loadout resets from what you change it in battle and you have to redo the whole process over and over which gets frustrating).

Aside from the emblem and weapon skins, you cannot change your appearance. You can glitch out the color of your uniform by making a color shape on your emblem stupidly large, but that’s about it. And I actually rather them /not/ change thing. I’ve gotten to the point I can recognize the classes by look alone and not just spotting tag.
