How to mark targets in battlefield 1

You want to press the ‘Q’ button to mark all targets in your line of sight. I have been using the Q key …. which brings up the binoculars (with T to zoom in) and I’ve scanned the designated bad guys but when I exit to normal view nothing is marked. And just to mention, the game menu keyboard assignments doesn’t include the Q key.
