None of the recent Battlefield games have split screen. Battlefield has always been known for its multiplayer, but it has been a long time since it has included single console multiplayer. If you want to play battlefield with a friend, then you will need 2 separate consoles to play together.

Even though there is a 4 player co-op mode again Battlefield 5 does not have splitscreen (as far as I am aware). As for why its the simple answer of most people don’t splitscreen anymore so developers don’t feel the need to put it in their games. Not that I agree with it it is pretty much reality at this point.

If you want to play battlefield with a friend, then you will need 2 separate consoles to play together. Unfortunately, it does not. That would be a pretty cool feature though. Same with Overwatch. No, only multi player online. No co op and no multi player on one console. Sorry! Seniors using loophole to save for retirement.
Do you prefer split-screen co-op or second player?
Of course second player can be instantly teleported to the first but it’s not building gameplay experience. Split-screen coop is (in my opinion) considered more for parties, short, fun plays than story for story mode.
