How soon before my flight should I arrive at the airport? If you are departing on a domestic flight, we recommend travelers arrive 2 hours prior to departure. For international destinations, we recommend arriving 3 hours prior to departure.
One hour is a reasonable amount of time, and you will probably be fine, but there is a bit of a risk of getting stuck. Note---Dulles is not near the city center of Washington DC, so if you do miss your connection, you are more or less stuck at the airport.
