That button simply tells Outlook to perform a send/receive operation for all of your accounts, looking for new incoming messages or sending any waiting outgoing messages. It does not send the contents of your folders to anyone.
To send the email, double-click it, and click Send. An email can also get stuck in the Outbox if it has a very large attachment. Your email provider may block emails with attachments larger than a size they specify.
A main reason why the email may be going the Drafts folder is its sending through the Outlook Outbox rather than the PoliteMail server and the message is too large to send through Outlook. Verify that Send Email Via is set to PoliteMail Server, not Outlook Outbox. Click OK.
Go to the Send/Receive tab and click Send All. You'll see a dialog box showing the results of the process, and your email might exit the outbox.
Click Drafts along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Drafts along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Drafts label.) Click the message you'd like to continue composing. Edit the message, and click Send, Save Changes, or Discard.
In the folder pane, click the Drafts folder, then double-click the message. If you want to delete a draft, right-click a message in the draft folder and select Delete.
This duplication is caused when your account is sending through Gmail's SMTP server and Outlook is configured to save a copy of each sent item. You may choose to disable this setting by following these steps if you are using Outlook 2013 or 2016: Click on File.
The reason there are duplicates in the Sent Items folder for some email providers is that the server automatically creates an item in the Sent Items and Outlook uploads the same item again. For Read/Unread status of an email Outlook relies on the server. If the status from server is unread Outlook sets it accordingly.
Select Home > Cleanup.
- Clean up Conversation will delete and move the duplicate emails that are in the conversation.
- Clean Up Folder will remove the duplicate emails from any particular folder.
- Clean Up Folders and Subfolders will clean up the duplicate folders and subfolders.
An updated draft will be available in your drafts folder until the message is sent. If you choose not to send the message and would like to delete the copy from your Drafts folder, simply the select it in the Drafts folder and then click on the trash can icon to move the draft to the trash.
In Outlook, select the “File” menu, then choose “Options“. Select “Mail” on the left pane. Check the “Automatically save items that have not been sent after this many minutes:” box to enable saving to the Drafts folder. Uncheck it to disable it.
