There are different types of synthetic oil: synthetic blend oil and full synthetic oil. Here's the difference. Synthetic blend oil is a mix of conventional motor oils and synthetic base stocks. Full synthetic oil uses a synthetic base stock mixed with a variety of additives that boost the performance of the oil.

From their firm determination and hard work came Yamalube EFERO R, a full-synthetic oil with a low, 5W-20 viscosity. Its performance was on par with full-on racing oil and the model the team had in mind was the FZR750R, a race homologation model also known as the OW01.
Yamaha's Yamalube 2W oil is two-stroke oil designed for personal watercraft. It is a semi-synthetic oil that Yamaha claims was designed to prevent rust, corrosion, ring stick, piston burning and spark plug fouling. It is sold in 1-qt., 1-gallon, 2.5-gallon and 55-gallon containers.
A 10 W 40 oil will have the viscosity of a 10 Grade oil when cold and that of a 40 Grade oil when hot. A 20 W 40 oil can replace a 10 W 40 if your winter / cold temperatures are not too low. A 10W 40 will afford better lubrication and performance over a wider temperature range than a 20W 40 oil.

If the gear oil appears dark or gritty, then it must be changed. If the gear oil level is low, top it up. If topping up the transmission oil doesn't help with this, you may have internal components that have failed.
In normal driving conditions, most cars can hit up to 80,000 miles before needing a gear oil change. However, this number is a maximum, and most manufacturers recommend changing your gear oil between 50,000 and 60,000 miles.

Poor lubrication causes excessive wear and damage to internal parts.Milky oil means water has gotten into the lower unit. It is usually a bad propshaft seal, rather than a waterpump seal.
