A COR value above 0.83 (legal max) will offer more distance for most golfers that use it. Other types of illegal golf drivers include, oversized golf drivers (460cc or larger), anti-slice and extra long (over 48 inches in length) golf drivers. These types of illegal golf drivers are not as common as a high COR driver.

Legal driver length
Under the Rules of Golf, the maximum length of a club is 48 inches.
