Bear Creek Lake Park is managed by the City of Lakewood. Swimming is allowed in the park's Big Soda Lake from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. through Labor Day. Watersport activities include water skiing and waterboarding, paddleboats, paddleboards, canoes, kayaks and sailboats.
The lake is closed for the season. are not allowed on the water during the winter lake closure.
Bear Creek Lake Park's Big Soda Lake and the Bear Creek Reservoir are open to paddle craft and shoreline use at a limited capacity on a first-come, first-served basis. Rocky Mountain Paddleboard is open by reservation at rockymountainpaddleboard.com. Reservations are not being accepted for paddle sports use.
Features. In addition to a large playground, Bear Creek features football and soccer fields, a running track, a new fenced-in dog off-leash area, and a skatepark to practice your skills. Also find outdoor fitness equipment to use for cardio and strength training.
Swimming is permitted in Big Bear Lake under the following conditions: within 50 feet of the shore, within 20 feet of a private dock, within a designated swimming area, as necessary to recreational towing activities, or in an emergency.

Boating: The lake is open to boating from May 1st through September 30th, 7am to sunset. Power boating by permit only and paddling. Paddle craft rentals are available, as well as seasonal boating and paddling permits. Paddle craft can use the lake every day with a daily paddle pass or paddle permit.
All areas east of Bear Lake Road are open now, according to a news release, along with the popular Bear Lake trail system.

The Bear River is the largest tributary of the Great Salt Lake, draining a mountainous area and farming valleys northeast of the lake and southeast of the Snake River Plain. It flows through southwestern Wyoming, southeastern Idaho, and northern Utah, in the United States.
Alum Creek Lake is a man-made reservoir located in Delaware County, Ohio, United States. It was built in 1974, covers 5 square miles (13 km2), and has a maximum capacity of 134,815 acre feet (166,292,000 m3).

Bear Creek Lake was built by members of the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938 as a project of the Virginia Department of Agriculture through the State Forestry Division. The lake was built using labor from local carpenters, farmers and un-skilled laborers seeking jobs.
