A 4/10 work schedule, in a nutshell, is when you work 10 hours a day for 4 days a week. This means that for every week, you could potentially have a three-day weekend, depending on when during the week that day off falls. There is both good and bad to this arrangement.
The math is simple: working five eight-hour shifts is equivalent to working four 10-hour shifts. That's true. But the implications of these schedules are different. Break entitlement
In general, you are entitled to a 15 minute break when you have worked for 4 ½ hours. If you work more than 6 hours you are entitled to a 30 minute break, which can include the first 15-minute break.
