EDIT: After talking to Shaw through chat support, they will no longer be able to keep the email address for $5/month after the service as been disconnected, only if its process of disconnection are you able to still do so. Snowbird the Shaw account would work too. There is a small fee to keep email active.
If those aren't working either, you should troubleshoot your Internet connection before troubleshooting your email. Try logging in to Shaw Webmail using your @shaw.ca email address. If you aren't able to log in, it's possible that you don't have the right password, or that your email account has been suspended.
