Chris McKay is ploughing ahead with a sequel to The LEGO Batman Movie The LEGO Batman Movie was a decent-sized success when it came out back in 2017. Arnett's Batman will of course return to the big screen in the new year, as The LEGO Movie 2 will arrive in cinemas on 8th February, 2019.
Yes and no. The film's directors have openly acknowledged that there's a connection between the two films and that the goal is to build an interconnected "Lego Cinematic Universe".
So yes, if you hadn't already made the assumption, The Lego Movie and Lego Batman Movie take place in the same universe with humans pulling the invisible strings.
