Savings over £16,000 usually mean you will not be able to get Housing Benefit, although this £16,000 limit does not apply if you or a partner get Pension Credit Guarantee. Savings over £6,000 (£10,000 for Pensioners) will usually affect how much Housing Benefit you can get.

Generally if you get the money on the day of the public holiday you will still recieve it that day. However if the public holiday falls on the day payroll process and send the pays this will usually result in being paid a day late.
Get your benefit paid early
Most benefits can be paid early. This is known as a 'short term benefit advance'. You might be able to get your benefit paid early if: you've claimed a benefit and are waiting for the first payment.Once you've been awarded a JSA, your payments will be backdated to when you applied and then paid fortnightly into your bank account. Additional good news is, if you have a valid reason for having made a late application, it's possible to get back payment for up to three months.
Payments are issued after a correctly completed certification is submitted online through UI OnlineSM, by phone through EDD Tele-CertSM, or by mailing a Continued Claim Form, DE 4581. Claimants certify for UI benefits through the EDD every two weeks.

Most benefits and payments are paid weekly. If you get a weekly payment, your official pay day is either: Tuesday. Wednesday, or.
Depending on your bank, the funds are available sometime after midnight on the day they are due, usually in the early hours. Some banks deposit money into your account around 11.30pm so you can withdraw it before midnight on benefit payday. Others will release your funds at midnight or just a few minutes after that.
Bacs payments go in starting 1am to 7am for the vast majority of banks. If a bacs payment hasn't been credited after 7am, very likely you would need to wait until the next working day.
Most bank-connected accounts are set up for automatic refresh. This means your account will update once every 24 hours. The refreshes usually take place sometime between 2 AM and 6 AM, in the local time of the capital of the country where the financial institution is located.

Usually it is paid every four weeks on a Monday or Tuesday, but you may get it paid weekly if you're a single parent or one of you is claiming other benefits like Income Support. If you're due to get your payment on April 19 then you will get your money the day before on April 18.
The pay days are different for everyone. When you get your first regular payment (which should be after four weeks), it's every four weeks on the same day of the week. The only change is if the designated pay day is a Bank Holiday, in which case that payment only is made early. Mine is on a friday.

It can take up to 5 working days to receive the advance, but payments often come through quicker. Ask for the money to be paid on the same day if it's an emergency. The advance will be paid into your bank, building society or credit union account.
All working age benefits payments will rise by 1.7 per cent on 6 April 2020, marking the first time they have increased since 2015. For 12 months, the government is increasing Universal Credit payments by £1,000, amounting to around £80 extra per month. This increase will apply to all new and existing claimants.
It can take up to two weeks to get paid after signing on. You'll then have to 'sign on' at the Jobcentre every fortnight. This involves a short interview to check your situation, job seeking progress and any change of circumstances. You should get your money fortnightly, within three working days of your visit.
The Pensions Advisory Service states: “Your State Pension is normally paid every four weeks straight into your bank account. “When you claim your State Pension, the Pension Service will give you information about the different types of bank, building society, credit union and Post Office accounts you can use.”
What age do child benefits stop? Child benefit payments stop on 31 August, on or after your child's 16th birthday. At this age, your teen will get their own registered National Insurance Number. But you are still entitled to cash after they turn 16 - if they choose to stay in "approved" education or training.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will automatically stop CTC for a child from 1 September following their 16th birthday. You will need to contact HMRC if your child is staying on in education or approved training on 1 September, and subsequently as they turn 17, 18 and 19 years old, to ensure your payments continue.
How to apply for a hardship payment. If you're on JSA or ESA you should either ask about hardship payments in person at the Jobcentre Plus office, or call the DWP contact centre on 0345 608 8545. You should be set up with an appointment for the same day or the day after.
If you receive Income Support paid in advance
If your Income Support is paid in advance because of another benefit which is also paid in advance (usually Bereavement Benefit or Widows Benefit) your benefit award will be converted to weekly payments in arrears.Pension Credit is usually paid every four weeks.
State Pension is normally paid into a Bank, Building Society, or Post Office card account. Payment can be made weekly, or at the end of every 4 or 13 weeks. Even if a claim is made as soon as retirement age is reached, the claimant may not be paid that day as pensions are not paid out on every day of the week.
Payments made using Faster Payments will sometimes be received immediately after leaving your account, but can sometimes take up to 2 hours. This option is free, available 24 hours a day and typically used in online banking, mobile apps, over the phone or in branch.
Payment direct to your bank (BACS)
Payments to your bank account are processed every Monday and Thursday. The BACS system takes 3 working days so: payments processed on Monday show in your account on Wednesday. payments processed on Thursday show in your account on Monday (or Tuesday when Monday is a public holiday)What's important is that there's enough money in your account between 7.30am and 10.30am on the date a Direct Debit is due. If there isn't, the Direct Debit could bounce and your account provider might charge a missed payment fee.
You can transfer a minimum of $1 to your bank, or your full balance if it's under $1. You can transfer up to $10,000 to your bank account or debit card in a single transfer. Within a 7-day period, you can transfer up to $20,000 to your bank account or debit card.
Banks generally won't process payments to accounts at other banks over weekends or on public holidays. Payments made on a non-business day will be processed the next business day. Also, if you set up a payment late in the day, the bank will generally send your payment the next business day. Check with your bank.
Child benefit arrives on Monday or Tuesday except, that is, when there's a bank holiday. Qualifying parents typically receive the payment every four weeks, but single parents can ask for it to arrive weekly instead, with the money hitting bank accounts by around 9am.
What time does the loan go in? When you've found out the day, your budgeting loan will usually be transferred into your bank account (or other selected place) at the same time as your other benefits are paid. This is usually around midnight or a few hours after.
The overall daily payment limit to other people in Online Banking is £50,000. For transfers between your own Barclays accounts, the limit is £250,000 per transaction. For third-party payments and standing orders, the limit is £50,000. To make payments over these limits, you'll need to visit a branch.
