Weight: 6 lbs.15 oz. The ES-339 is the next generation from the Gibson Custom Shop iconic ES electric guitars. It goes where no guitar has gone before with a bold, new semi-hollow tone that is rich with expressive, even stinging, overtones.
The Gibson ES 339 has all the great sound you'd expect from a Gibson. It has superb loud, acoustic resonance from the semi-hollow body. Overall, this is a really great sounding guitar with a smooth, classic sound perfect for blues but happy to step in to rock any time.
Since then, it has been reissued a few times by the Gibson Custom Shop division. Famous ES-330 players include Eric Church, Emily Remler, B.B. King, Slim Harpo, Grant Green, William Reid, Roky Erickson, Chris Bell, Zoot Horn Rollo, Brian Jones, Brad Simpson of The Vamps, and Elliott Smith.

After Lennon's passing, the guitar was kept by Yoko Ono and was put on display in the John Lennon Museum in Saitama, Japan until it closed in September 30, 2010.
China. In 2004, Gibson opened a factory in Qingdao, China, which manufactures Epiphone guitars. With few exceptions, Epiphones are now built only in the Qingdao factory.
The Casino Coupe is a more compact version of the Casino and it is more on par with the Les Paul in terms of size but it is a lot lighter. It has the fully hollow body design of the original Casino but fits it into a smaller ES-339 body which is ideal for a number of reasons.
Both had the more common Epiphone-style headstock and were fitted with gold-colored Volume and Tone knobs.
This guitar is well built. It's not going to fool you into thinking it's anything but a Chinese made Epiphone, but it is at least as good as you would expect. The finish is nice, the frets are filed nicely, it looks and plays great! And, with the addition of the Bigsby, it has lots of vibe!
John Lennon played various guitars with The Beatles and during his solo career, most notably the Rickenbacker (four variants thereof) and Epiphone Casino, along with various Gibson and Fender guitars.
Launched in 1961, the ES-230TD Casino was basically a re-branded version of the thinline ES-330 model, which Gibson produced between 1959 and 1972.
First introduced in 1961, the Casino was just one of several new thinline archtops designed and produced at the company's adopted new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that it shared with one-time competitor and new partner, Gibson.
