Expedited Service at a Passport Agency (less than 2 weeks)If you're leaving in 8 days or less, you can make an appointment at one of the State Department's regional passport agencies. You are also eligible for an appointment if you're leaving in the next month and need to get a visa before you travel.
While the Collin County passport offices have closed, residents can still apply for passports year-round at the following locations:

Renew
- Renewing your passport before it expires. You need at least 6 months left on your passport to travel to certain countries.
- How long it takes. It takes up to 3 weeks to get a passport if you apply online.
- Renew online. Use this service to renew your passport online.
- Renew using a paper application form.
- Unexpired visas.
You may apply online for renewal of your machine readable passport if it has been expired. NOTE: If the passport has not yet expired but has 7 months or less validity, the applicant can still apply in renewal category to acquire a machine readable passport with the extended validity of the passport i.e. 5/10 years.

If your trip is not within 2-3 weeks, but you need your U.S. passport more quickly than the normal processing period of 6 to 8 weeks, you can request expedited service by mail or in person at a passport acceptance facility near you.
For mail-in services, you can select routine service (receive your passport in 10-12 weeks) or expedited service (receive your passport in 4-6 weeks). Expedited service costs an additional $60 per application.
If your Canada passport was issued when you were 16 years old or older, your passport is valid for 10 years. If your Canada passport was issued when you were 15 years old or younger, your passport is valid for 5 years.
The biggest difference between a passport book and passport card is that passport cards are only valid to enter Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and Caribbean countries and territories (see the full list below) and can only be used at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry.
U.S. citizens must present a valid U.S. passport book or card, in addition to an entry permit (Forma Migratoria Multiple or FMM) issued by Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM). Travelers should be sure to enter Mexico with valid proof of automobile registration, even if remaining in the border zone.

If you would like to have the processing of your passport application expedited, add an additional $60 to the application fee and write “EXPEDITE” on the outside of the envelope. This will allow you to receive your passport in 2-3 weeks instead of the routine 6-8 weeks.

No, TSA will not accept an expired passport for a flight. For international travel, a valid passport is essential. For domestic flights, a valid passport isn't essential, but you must have some form of valid photo identification that hasn't expired.
However, you have to get a new passport photo every time you renew your travel documents. A single copy isn't enough: you must send in two identical photos for your passport application.
You can change names in your passport any time after marriage. If you can provide your Australian Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) issued marriage certificate or BDM issued relationship certificate you could be eligible for a free replacement. Your current passport must have a minimum of 2 years validity.

In addition, passports are good for 10 years. You can move all over and have many different addresses before your passport expires. Just use your passport for ID. You do not need to present your driver's license.

There are a few things you should not wear for a passport photo, though. Work and sports uniforms, or anything that may look like a uniform, shouldn't be worn. You also can't wear fatigues or camouflage prints. Obviously, you can take a passport photo with a facial tattoo.
You can take your passport photo using any device that captures photo, whether that's your phone, a digital camera, or a tablet. You can't submit a selfie as your passport photo, and you can't use a webcam either, so you'll need to find a helpful friend or family member to lend a hand.
