Once again Tom Woodruff climbed into an animal suit, this time he was the lion. The lion was built for medium and close-up shots for expressions. It was make mostly with synthetic fur and the design as with all the design of all the animals in Jumanji was meant to look like it could have come from a child's nightmare.
After Van Pelt is released and a stampede wrecks the house, Peter was transformed by "JUMANJI" into a Monkey while trying to win by deliberately landing a 12 roll, which the game didn't like as it was cheating.
It has to be, given the 1995 movie really resets itself at the end, meaning the creative team has had to be really careful with any references and connections that have been made. Jumanji: The Next Level also connects to the original Robin Williams film at the end of the movie.
In the original movie, Judy and Peter don't remember anything about what happened in Jumanji when they leave the game. However in the rebooted series, Spencer, Bethany, Fridge and Martha remember exactly what happened.
