As members of the Fab Five, Jalen Rose and Chris Webber led the Michigan Wolverines to two Final Fours (though most of their wins and both of their Final Four appearances were vacated due to NCAA violations). Both players went on to have notable NBA careers before both entered the media world.

DETROIT (AP) — Detroit Mercy's appeal of its postseason ban for men's basketball has been denied. The university said Tuesday its appeal to the NCAA had not been granted. The ban was because of the team's Academic Progress Rate.
Although the Fab Five Final Four appearances have been vacated, Ray Jackson was not among the players called before the grand jury (Robert Traylor, Webber, Rose, Maurice Taylor, and Louis Bullock) in the University of Michigan basketball scandal and was not found to have received large amounts of money.

Webber spent 15 years in the NBA and became known as a member of the 'Fab Five' leading his University of Michigan team to the NCAA Men's Division Basketball Championship as a freshmen and a sophomore in 1992 and 1993. Since retiring from the NBA, he has been an analyst on NBA TV's NBA Gametime Live.

John Beilein leaving Michigan to coach the Cavaliers is a loss for all of college basketball. One of college basketball's best jobs is open after John Beilein confirmed Monday that he is leaving Michigan for the NBA to coach the Cavaliers. The void at the college level will extend beyond Ann Arbor.
Beilein had a $3.37 million annual salary at Michigan. The Cavaliers had recently been discussing their coaching vacancy with a number of assistants around the NBA, including Nuggets assistants Jordi Fernandez and Wes Unseld Jr., the Magic's Steve Hetzel and the Trail Blazers' David Vanterpool.
Just 54 games into the first year of a five-year contract, the Cleveland Cavaliers officially announced through a statement on their website that Beilein has resigned as the head coach, but he will remain with the organization in a different role. J.B.
