Jennifer "Jenny" Shepard was the Director of NCIS from 2005 until she was killed in action in 2008, dying from injuries sustained in a gunfight in an abandoned diner during the NCIS Season 5 finale, Judgment Day Part 1 (episode).
One of note is the death of the character Caitlin Todd, NCIS special junior agent to the Major Case Response Team. She died as a result of injuries from gunshot wounds. Another character death that shocked fans was the death of Jennifer Shepard. She was the NCIS director.
Under interrogation by Director Shepard, Jeanne admitted she did not witness the killing. While Kort confesses to murdering La Grenouille, it is further suggested that Shepard herself killed La Grenouille when Gibbs remembers that he saw La Grenouille put her gun on the table before he left.
In January 2016, Weatherly and CBS confirmed that season thirteen would be DiNozzo's last as a series regular. In the show, DiNozzo leaves after learning that he has a daughter with his former partner Special Agent Ziva David, who apparently died in a mortar attack on her home in Israel.
She joined the army in 1985 and retired Nov 18, 2007. She handed over to her successor in the last scene of "In The Dark" (Series 4) but stayed on active service until Series 5.03 (Ex-Files). "After her retirement, the Lt. Col will be relocating to the Hawaiian Island of Lanai.

Gibbs is officially not leaving NCIS for at least another season. However, his future on the show after that remains uncertain. Harmon has appeared on the show in around 360 episodes in the 15 years the show has been on television. He is one of only a handful of actors who have been on the show since its first season.
McGee's weight loss led to speculation that Sean Murray, the actor who portrays McGee, was ill; in October 2010 Murray, via his Twitter account, explained that it was a deliberate weight loss via dieting, consuming only organic food and abstaining from alcohol and sugar. Murray has lost 25 pounds.
In June, Perrette shared on Twitter that she remains “terrified” of Harmon “attacking” her, adding, “I have nightmares about it.” Two hours later, she followed that up with close-up photos of a crew member who was allegedly bitten by Harmon's dog on-set in October 2016.
La Grenouille was murdered on his yacht the night following his meeting with Director Shepard and Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the home of Director Shepard. It is proven that La Grenouille's assassin used Director Shepard's gun to kill him. Shepard, however, claimed that La Grenouille took the gun when he left her home.

One of the reasons Holly left NCIS was because she was getting bored playing the character Jenny Shepard. The producers also decided it was time to get rid of her character, so she was killed off during season 5.During a mortar attack arranged by former CIA agent Trent Kort, Ziva is apparently killed. In the season 16 finale "Daughters", de Pablo returned for the ending scene to reprise the Ziva role. She appeared in Gibbs' basement to warn him his life was in danger.
La Grenouille (real name: René Benoit) is a villain that appears on NCIS. He is a French weapons dealer that is being hunted by NCIS Director Jenny Shepard because she believed that he killed her father, Colonel Jasper Shepard.
Jenny died heroically in a hail of bullets after taking out 4 (count 'em! 4!) baddies in the finale episode of Season 5 but, because she was dying of a disease that would have been very painful and caused her to lose her motor skills, brain tumor.
