Once you get the Sonos Port, you need to wire the laptop or desktop you're using to the line-in input on the Port. This will link your computer's audio to the Sonos app; now, open the Sonos app, go to Settings, Room Settings and then choose the Sonos speakers you want to use as your new computer speakers.
An easy method to stream Windows PC audio wirelessly to Sonos, using a third-party app
- Launch the app using the Start menu shortcut.
- Right-click on the app's icon in the system tray.
- Go to Tools > HTTP Live Streaming.
- Copy the on-screen URL.
- Open the Sonos app.
- Go to Manage > Add Radio Station.

Sonos 3.7 for Mac is a free download available on Sonos' website; it requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. The iOS app is available for free from the App Store and is compatible with iOS devices running iOS 3.0 or later.
How to enable AirPlay on a Mac
- Go to "Displays" in System Preferences.
- Make sure the box at the bottom of the Displays page is checked.
- In the AirPlay drop-down, select a device under "AirPlay To."
- Click "Turn AirPlay Off."
- Go to "Displays" in System Preferences.
- Click the drop-down arrows next to "AirPlay Display."
Restart all devices and try to AirPlay again. Toggle off Bluetooth, or if already off, try turning it on. Turn off Cellular Data. Disconnect from any other Bluetooth devices (like speakers)
Your Sonos devices should automatically show up as AirPlay speakers in any audio menu on your iPhone or iPad (as well as in iTunes on your Mac, if you still use it). Stereo pairing works with AirPlay, too.
To use Standard Setup:
- Plug your Sonos in at the wall within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Download the Sonos app on PC/Mac, iOS or Android.
- Open the app and select 'Set up a new Sonos system'
- Select 'Standard Setup'
- Select the speaker you want to set up.
Common fixes
- Check the power to your Sonos product. Make sure the power cord is securely plugged in to both the Sonos product and the power outlet.
- Unplug your router, then plug it back in. Give the router a minute or two to start up again.
- Make sure you're connected to the right Wi-Fi network.
If some of your Sonos products are missing from your Rooms list after you've wired a Sonos product, reboot all missing Sonos products in your household, then go to Settings > System > Network > Wireless Setup to connect them to the Wi-Fi network.
